A parent posted a review that is 100% false, claiming the child was screaming and had a terrible experience — though the parent wasn't even present at the visit.
The child came in with a grandparent for a check-up and was playful and fully cooperative. The child had presented with facial bruising; the explanation changed twice, didn't match the grandparent's account, and was inconsistent with the injury. As a mandatory reporter I documented and reported my observations — I have no way to know whether it was abuse, but I'm required to report suspicion or risk my license. The review appears to be retaliation for that report.
It makes me afraid and hesitant to report suspected abuse or neglect, because the repercussions to my reputation and livelihood can be severe. It's emotionally distressing to watch someone lie about you with no affordable way to protect yourself.
I've tried repeatedly to get the review removed but can't. I called the social worker about it and was told there is nothing I can do.
