A monthly fee to make the bad review disappear
This account was submitted by a healthcare provider and de-identified before publication. Details that could identify a patient or practice have been removed, and it is shared with the provider’s consent.
A vague one star review with no detail appeared, followed by a message offering to take it down for a monthly fee.
When I declined, two more thin negative reviews arrived within a week, each just plausible enough to seem real. It was a shakedown dressed up as reputation help.
In a practice that runs on local reputation, even a small dip in stars costs new patients, and the pressure to just pay was real.
I kept the messages and reported each review, but individually they looked like ordinary opinions, so nothing happened.
