Wish I could rate zero-stars. Showed up for a teeth cleaning for my 4-year old and was REFUSED SERVICE because we said no x-rays! Staff was confrontational. Sat with Dr [redacted] who told me to find another practice because he won't clean or exam without x-rays. There was no medical reason. I was told she was “at that age.” Disgraceful!
Parent refused radiographs, did not ever want radiographs
Here is the reponse Response from the owner 8 years ago Thank you for helping me to clarify the importance of timely radiographs for a dental exam. In our office, the Radiograph Policy is given to every patient in the New Patient Forms to be signed prior to their initial appointment. This policy states the reason, importance, and safety of radiographs. Radiographs are NOT taken on every patient at every appointment nor are they taken at a specific age. Each patient is assessed for the need of Radiographs and taken and updated when appropriate. My radiograph assessment and determination is based on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Guidelines. When x-rays are needed and recommended, they are a valuable tool in assessing a patient’s dental health and therefore, an exam alone does not tell a whole story. Consider buying a dozen eggs without checking what is inside the carton. An exam with appropriately timed x-rays is the standard level of care and I will not compromise this level. I feel so strongly in maintaining this standard level of care. It is so critically important to me and my practice that I would gladly trade a “one- or zero-“ rating, then to provide substandard care. Just like my feeling about providing a high level of care, is the same passion for the Office Team that surrounds me.
