A former employee's grievance, dressed up as a patient safety warning

This account was submitted by a healthcare provider and de-identified before publication. Details that could identify a patient or practice have been removed, and it is shared with the provider’s consent.

What was posted

Not long after I had to let a staff member go, a detailed review appeared describing "the chaos behind the scenes" and warning that I was "unsafe with patients." It referenced our internal scheduling software by name and complained about back office procedures no patient would ever see.

What actually happened

The tone was pure workplace retaliation dressed up as a safety warning. I could not correct the record without wading into a personnel matter that I will not discuss publicly, both for legal reasons and out of basic decency.

Impact

My remaining staff read it and were genuinely rattled, because they work hard and the post implied they were part of something dangerous. For a while I stopped reading my own reviews entirely, because every visit to the page cost me a night of sleep.

Steps taken

I flagged it as content from a non-patient, and after a two week wait Yelp left it up with no explanation. There was little else I could do without airing the details I am not willing to air.
